I love succulents very much. I met the specimen I painted in the greenhouse of St. Petersburg botanical garden a couple of years ago. For me, this is the most charming plant. Bright flowers glowing from the inside adorn the restrained bluish greenery — this combination gives me an incredible feeling. As if I had found a kindred spirit. It took me almost a year to work on the painting. I made a few sketches and a lot of photos to capture all the angles, both rosettes and peduncles. And I am very happy that I finished the painting for St. Petersburg autumn exhibition of botanical art.
